DonateWhy donate to the YMCA of Cumberland? Because when you donate to the Y, you donate to a cause. A cause that is providing opportunities for a brighter future for the residents of Allegany County and the tri-state region.
Together, we will address key issues facing our community. People living in poverty and physical inactivity are prevalent in our community. Without the Y, our community would fewer children reaching their potential, more homeless individuals, less self sufficient citizens, and decreased health and well being. When you think of the Y, remember it is more than just a facility, it's a cause. Annual Campaign
The Y provides opportunities for a brighter future. In our area, one out of every four children come from family living in poverty. In addition, nearly one out of every three children are either overweight or obese. The Y serves families and children in poverty through a variety of programs and is a leader when it comes to promoting physical activity.
The Y is able to address these community needs because members, citizens, businesses, and organizations donate to our annual support campaign. Without these resources, important services would be curtailed. Please support the Y’s annual support campaign and our community will have more children reaching their potential, less homeless individuals, greater numbers of self-sufficient citizens, and improved health and well-being. The YMCA. We’re More Than a Facility, We’re a Cause! Cumberland YMCA and YMCA Heritage Foundation
With a commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility, the Cumberland YMCA ensures that every individual has access to the essentials needed to learn, grow and thrive.
The Cumberland Y believes that its programs and services should be available to everyone regardless of age, background, ability or income. That’s why we offer the “Open Door” program, a financial assistance program. Determining assistance amounts is handled in a fair and consistent manner. Every Y member receives the same membership benefits, regardless of whether or not they receive a scholarship. Y members can feel confident knowing that they are a part of an organization that cares greatly for the well-being of all people, and is committed to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
